Mervin Mathiot wins first ‘Player of the month’ award

St Louis Suns’ captain Mervin Mathiot is the first recipient of the newly introduced ‘Player of the month’ award for outstanding players in the Barclays league division one.

Introduced by the Seychelles Football Federation (SFF) as a boost to good performance, discipline and fair play, the prize will be awarded every two months.
According to the SFF secretary general Jemmy Adela, potential candidates for the award will be chosen according to ongoing reports from match commissioners which will be compiled by the federation.
He added that for the moment, the prize is being awarded to players in the Barclays league division one only and that the SFF is planning to introduce it in the other divisions.
The award winner will receive prizes sponsored by Barclays, the SFF as well as individual sponsors.
